ACCORD--AT THE END

In his years of retirement, his interest in the O&W never failed. He remained in Accord and recorded the literal end of his way of life as the Kingston branch trackage was removed following abandonment. These box camera scenes are not clear but show the NYC train used to rip rails up as it proceeded northward heading for Kingston.

I was pleased to be a friend of Mike Palmer and to take him to his first O&W Old Timers Picnic in Hancock in 1971, wearing his agents hat he got in 1928. Mike Palmer passed away on June 28, 1978.
