A letter sent to Catskill resort owners advertising the summer, 1929 passenger service from New York
NEW YORK, ONTARIO & WESTERN RAILWAY COMPANY
TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT

NEW YORK JUNE 12, 1929

To Hotel and Boarding House Proprietors:

The New York Ontario & Western Railway's Summer timetable will become effective Friday June 28th. The most important change over the last season will be faster service from and to New York, which should strongly appeal to your guests.

The fast trains will be known by name as follows:

THE SULLIVAN COUNTY LIMITED

THE MANHATTAN

THE DELAWARE COUNTY EXPRESS

THE NEW YORKER

THE ULSTER COUNTY EXPRESS

THE HALF-HOLIDAY

and other trains at convenient intervals.

12 GOOD TRAINS FROM NEW YORK ON SUNDAYS

The average running time will be less than 3 hours to Fallsburgh, and corresponding service to other Resort stations.

The Ulster County Express will run direct thru to Ellenville, Napanoch, Kerhonkson and Kingston, and have thru coaches for St. Josephs and Monticello. The bus line between Fallsburgh and Monticello will make connections with all main line trains at Fallsburgh, furnishing an additional service between New York City and Monticello of approximately 3 hrs. 15 min.

The same relative service will apply Southbound.

PARLOR CAR ON ALL EXPRESS AND LIMITED TRAINS.

The N.Y.O. & W. Ry. Co., is a large taxpayer. It spends many thousands of dollars each year in advertising Sullivan and Ulster County Resorts. Its train service is, and must be regulated by patronage. Greater patronage will produce - greater service - with greater results for the communities served.

During the Summer, traffic conjestion on the highways is greatest and delays and hazards more numerous. During that period, the train service is not only more dependable and safe, but run more frequently and faster.

Summer timetables containing complete schedule of all trains will be in the hands of agents by June 24th.

May we look forward to your co-operation.

Yours very truly,

W. M. Tiel
